HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 06-6907 - Establish Matron duty pay for part-time Police Records Specialist 1 and 2RESOLUTION NO. 06-6907 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ESTABLISHING MATRON DUTY PAY FOR PART-TIME POLICE RECORDS SPECIALIST I AND II WHEREAS, the City adopted a Memorandum of Understanding for the Safety Auxiliary Unit; and WHEREAS, that agreement included bonus pay for Police Records Specialist I and II who are required to search female prisoners (matron duty); and WHEREAS, the employees who work part-time in those classifications are also required to perform matron duties. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Matron Duty Pay. Part-time Police Records Specialist I and II are required as a part of their regular duties to search female prisoners. Effective February 13, 2006, those employees required to search female prisoners shall receive matron duty pay equal to 2% of paid salary. Should these duties be removed from the classification and/or should an individual employee be declared unable to perform these duties because of physician ordered permanent work restrictions, the matron duty pay shall be removed for the classification and/or the individual. The removal of pay shall not occur when a physician declares the work restrictions temporary.[ SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. ATTEST: dMMmdh@ KATHLEEN L.
