ADOPTING REVISIONS TO THE CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS FOR
THE POSITIONS OF WATER SYSTEM LEADWORKER, WATER SYSTEM
OPERATOR III, WATER SYSTEM OPERATOR 11, AND KEEP DOWNEY
BEAUTIFUL/RECYCLING & WASTE COORDINATOR AND ADOPTING
CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION
FOR THE FY 2022-23 NEWLY CREATED POSITIONS OF SENIOR CIVIL
ENGINEER — UTILITIES AND SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget includes funding for the full-time
classifications of Water Systems Leadworker, Water Systems Operator 111, Water Systems
#Iperator 11, Keep Downey Beautiful (KDB)/Recycling & Waste Coordinator, Senior Civil
Engineer - Utilities, and Social Media Coordinator,
WHEREAS, the classifications of Water System Operator 11, Water Systems Operator 111,
2nd Water System Leadworker are represented by the Downey City Employees' Association —
Maintenance Unit and the classifications of Social Media Coordinator and Keep Downey
Beautiful (KDB)/Recycling & Waste Coordinator are represented by the Downey City
Employees' Association — Miscellaneous Unit,
TVAEREAS, the classification of Senior Civil Engineer - Utilities is an exempt
unrepresented at -will classification,
WHEREAS, the new classifications for the positions of Senior Civil Engineer - Utiliti
and Social Media Coordinator require a classification specification that includes employme
standards and qualifications,
WHEREAS, a review of class specifications was performed based on operational nee
related to the license requirements for the positions of Water System Operator 11, Wat
Systems Operator III, and Water System Leadworker resulting in revisions to the driver's licen
requirements with no change in compensation, I

SECTION t The class specifications for the classifications of Water Systems
Leadworker, Water Systems Operator 111, Water Systems Operator 11, Keep Downey Beautiful
(KDB)/Recycling & Waste Coordinator, Senior Civil Engineer - Utilities, and Social Media
Coordinator attached hereto, and by this reference are hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. The following pay ranges shall take effect to coincide with the pay period
that includes September 13, 2022 as follows:

Social Media Coordinator TBD $3,838.29 to $4,754.95/monthly
Senior Civil Engineer -Utilities TBD $9,297.46 to $11,343.01 /monthly
