HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Commission & Committees Vacancy List - ALL (08-16-22)BOARD OF BUILDING APPEALS VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 5 (Citywide) MEETINGS: Meets as required QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: The purpose of this Board is to hear and decide appeals of decisions made by the Building Official in connection with the application or the interpretation of the California Building Code and other ordinances, regulations and policies governing the building requirements of the City. The Board shall consist of five members. Each member shall be qualified pertaining to building construction and the California Building Code. GREEN TASK FORCE VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 2 (Southwest portion of the City) MEETINGS: 4t" Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Review and make recommendations to the City Council regarding energy; waste reduction; urban design, urban nature, transportation, environmental health; water; and any other matters specifically requested to be reviewed by the City Council. INDEPENDENT CITIZENS' OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 2 (Southwest portion of the City) MEETINGS: As -needed QUALIFICATIONS: Registered voter and reside in the respective District during the entire term of the appointment. DUTIES: To review on a quarterly basis the City's expenditure of revenues generated by Measure S. To review annual audit reports related to Measure S, and make one written annual Last Updated: 08/16/22 report to the City at a public meeting summarizing the Independent Committee's findings including any appropriate recommendations. The members of the Committee shall be appointed by and hold office at the pleasure of the City Council. The members of the Committee shall be appointed for a term of four years and shall hold office until their successors have been appointed. PLANNING COMMISSION # OF VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 3 (Northwest portion of the City) MEETINGS: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Recommends to the Council adoption of General, Master or Specific Plans for physical development. Reviews site plans and applications for Conditional Use Permits, Parcel Maps, and variances. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 2 (Southwest portion of the City) MEETINGS: 3rd Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Training Room of City Hall QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Review and making recommendations to the City Council regarding traffic and parking, solid waste and recycling, wastewater collection and disposal, air quality, hazardous waste, public utilities, transportation and mobility, water supply, energy consumption and conservation, urban runoff and water quality, urban blight and streetscape and other matters affecting a healthy and safe environment. YOUTH COMMISSION VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 1 (Southeast portion of the City) ONE (1) — District 2 (Southwest portion of the City) THREE (3) — District 3 (Northwest portion of the City) THREE (3) — District 4 (Northeast portion of the City) ONE (1) — District 5 (Citywide) MEETINGS: 3rd Thursday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at Downey City Hall QUALIFICATIONS: Commissioners serve one-year terms; grades 9t" — 11th may Last Updated: 08/16/22 request to be appointed a second year with no Commissioner serving beyond the 12t" grade.
