PLANNING COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS; REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS; AND CONFERENCE/MEETING REPORTS: IV. PRESENTATIONS 1. Rancho Los Amigos South Campus Specific Plan – (Specific Plan, General Plan Amendment, Zoning Code and Map Amendment, Program Environmental Impact Report) The 172-acre RLASCSP is located at the southwest corner of the City. The Specific Plan promotes future transit oriented development of the southern portion of the Rancho Los Amigos Campus, and encourages economic development with a focus on a diverse mixture of job-generating land uses, and prioritizes creating more livable communities with access to regional transit, such as the future West Santa Ana Branch (WSAB) Gardendale Transit Station. In conjunction with the proposed Specific Plan, a draft Program Environmental Impact Report was prepared to analyze the potential environmental impacts associated with implementation of the Specific Plan. REPORT ON CITY COUNCIL ACTION: VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS: RECOMMENDED ACTION 2. PLN-21-00079 (Special Event Permit) Approval Location: 251 Stonewood Street Request: A request to operate a circus for sixteen (16) days (July 23 to August 9, 2021), in conjunction with Circus Vargas, on property zoned SP 89-1 (Stonewood Specific Plan) CEQA: Categorical Exemption – Section 15304 (Class 4, Minor Alterations to Land) Staff: Alfonso Hernandez, Senior Planner Contact: ashernandez@downeyca.org 562-904-7154 PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA JULY 7, 2021 VII. NON-AGENDA PUBLIC COMMENTS: This portion of the agenda provides an opportunity for the public to address the Planning Commission on items within the jurisdiction of the Planning Commission and not listed on the agenda. It is requested, but not required, that you state your name, address and subject matter upon which you wish to speak. Please limit your comments to no more than three (3) minutes. Pursuant to the Brown Act, no discussion or action, other than a brief response, referral to the City Planning staff or schedule for a subsequent agenda, shall be taken by the Planning Commission on any issue brought forth under this section. VIII. CONSENT CALENDAR ITEMS: Items in this section will be voted on in one motion unless a Commissioner requests separate actions. Anyone wishing to comment on a Consent Calendar item should be recognized by the chairman, state name, address and agenda item number.
