The Public Works Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of
approximately 276 miles of water mains. As part of maintaining the water system, existing water
infrastructure on Coldbrook Avenue and Corrigan Avenue at the intersection of Stewart and
Gray Road, and on Vultee Avenue at the intersection of Buckles Street were in need of repairs
to ensure that the City can continue to provide reliable water service and fire protection to
residents and businesses in the City. A project location map is included as Attachment A.

Due to the maintenance and repair nature of the water work, the project was informally bid on
July 31, 2020. On August 25, 2020, the City Council awarded a construction contract for this
project to Williams Pipeline Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $35,000. Work commenced on
September 1, 2020 and was completed on September 8, 2020.

$37,500. The change order work included removal and replacement of an impacted water
service line and meter on Coldbrook Avenue.
All work plus change order were completed in accordance with the approved project plans and
specifications. Staff is recommending that the City Council accept the project as complete and
authorize the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to file the Notice of Completion with the
Los Angeles County Recorder's Office.
