SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF WORK FOR FIDLER AVENUE, LUBEC STREET, AND
MULLER STREET SEWER MAIN REHABILITATION, MISCELLANEOUS
PROJECT (MP) NO. 329
That the City Council:
1. Accept work for Fidler Avenue, Lubec Street, and Muller Street Sewer Main
Rehabilitation, MP No. 329;
3. Authorize Director of Public Works/City Engineer to file Notice of Completion with thA
Los Angeles County Recorder's office.
As part of the City's sewer system maintenance program, a number of the City's sewer mains
are assessed to identify areas in need of repairs to ensure continued efficiencies of the sewer
main system. Sewer mains on Fidler Avenue, Lubec Street, and Muller Street were in need of
repairs and rehabilitation involving the application of Cured -In -Place Pipe (CIPP) lining to
ensure that the City is able to continue to use this infrastructure to provide reliable sewer service
to the community.
Due to the repair nature of the sewer work, the project was informally bid on May 11, 2020. On
June 9, 2020, the City Council awarded a construction contract for this project to Nu -Line
Technologies, LLC in the amount of $115,290. Work commenced on July 7, 2020 and was
completed on August 17, 2020.
The sanitary sewer improvements included closed circuit television (CCTT) inspection, cleaning;
and installation of CIPP liners to damaged sewer main lines located on Fidler Avenue, Lube!A
Street, and Muller Street.
During construction, additional work beyond the original scope of the project resulted in one
contract change order in the amount of $8,460. The final construction contract amount was

$123,750. The change order work included installation of an additional CIPP liner spot repair on
a damaged 8-inch sewer main on Bigby Street.
All work plus change order were completed in accordance with the approved project plans and
specifications. Staff is recommending that the City Council accept the project as complete and
authorize the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to file the Notice of Completion with the
Los Angeles County Recorder's Office.

$134,307 broken down as follows:
