Ordinance No. 20-1439 expired on May 31, 2020. The Council may discuss and provide direction, if any, with respect to readopting a temporary moratorium on evictions of commercia! tenants unable to pay rent due to COVI 1,-1 9. 11. Repayment of' npaid Rents, If a temporary moratorium on eviction of commercial tenants is directed to be readopted, Council Member Ashton proposes a repayment schedule for commercial tenants to repay rents in arrears as follows: If the City Council terminates the Local Emerqencv:. During the period March 18, 2020 and June 15, 2020: six (6) months from the date tha Local Emergency is terminated to repay rents in arrears; or DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION RE URGENCY ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON EVICTIONS OF COMMERCIAL TENANTS IMPACTED BY COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND A REPAYMENT PERIOD FOR UNPAID RENT June A.2O28 Page During the period June 16, 2020 and July 16, 2020: nine (9) months from the date the Local Emergency is terminated to repay rents in arrears; or On July 17, 2020 or any time thereafter: twelve (12) months from the date the Local Emergency is terminated to repay rents in arrears.
