The project was advertised for bids in the Downey Patriot on April 16 and April 23, 2020, posted on Planet bids on April 17, 2020 and published in various trade publications. On May 7, 2020, eight bids were received with the following results: KDC Inc. dba Dynalectric Select Electric, Inc. Crosstown Electric & Data, Inc. California Professional Engineering, Inc. Belco Elecnor Group Alfaro Communication Construction, Inc. DBX, Inc. ernational Line Builders, Inc. LOCATION BASE Bib AMOUNT Los Alamitos, CA $11,033,136 Vista, CA $1,149,64-2— Irwindale, CA $1,150,874 La Puente, CA $1,163448 Chino, CA $1,167,,484 Compton, CA $1,206,000 Temecula, CA $1,345,764 Corona, CA The lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $1,033,136 was submitted by KDC Inc. dba Dynalectric (Dynalectric) of Los Alamitos as shown in the bid summary included in Attachment C. Dynalectric has satisfactorily completed similar projects for various Caltrans districts and the Cities of Arcadia, Buena Park, Culver City, Fullerton, Irvine, Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Santa Ana. Their references have been checked and were satisfactory. Dynalectric's contractor's license is current and active and they have met the required Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) contract goal of 10 percent. Finally, Dynalectric and their subcontractors are registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations under the Public Works Contractor Registration program for Labor Compliance. Upgrading existing traffic signals at Old River School Road, Barlin Avenue, Dunrobin Avenue, Smallwood Avenue, Citizenship Court, Downey Avenue, Brookshire Avenue, Columbia Way; Ardis Avenue -Caring Way, Beliflower Boulevard and Woodruff Avenue Installation of fully -protected left -turn phasing on the Imperial Highway approache at Down-N Avenue and Brookshire Avenue and protected -permissive let -turn phasing on the Imperi - Highway approaches at Barlin Avenue and Dunrobin Avenue I Upgrading existing curb access ramps at the Old River School Road, Smallwood Avenue, Barlin Avenue, Dunrobin Avenue and Woodruff Avenue intersections to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. It is anticipated that construction will commence in July 2020 and will be completed by January 2021.
