VIOLATIONS

On November 13, 2018, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 18-1402, which
repealed and replaced Article 111, Chapter 1 ("Traffic Regulations") of the Downey
Municipal Code — thereby renumbering the traffic regulations referenced in Resolution
No. 11-7248.
On June 25 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 19-7890, which set the
parking fine for a violation of Section 3197.1(3) ("App-Based Ride Share Parking") of t
Downey Municipal Code. I
As a result of the adoption of Ordinance No. 18-1402, it is necessary to modify the
City's Parking Fine Schedule to ensure that the fines correlate to the new Code
sections. Moreover, the Police Department is recommending that the City Council

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY UPDATING
AND CONSOLIDATING THE FINE SCHEDULE IN REGARDS TO PARKING
PENALTIES AND OTHER RELATED CHARGES FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS
WITHIN THE CITY.
WHEREAS, on January 25, 2011, the City Council of the City of Downey
adopted Resolution No. 11-7248, which, in part, approved a fine schedule for parking
violations within the City;
WHEREAS, on November 13, 2018, the City Council of the City of Downey
adopted Ordinance No. 18-1402, which repealed and replaced Article 111, Chapter 1
("Traffic Regulations") of the Downey Municipal Code — thereby renumbering numerous
traffic regulations;
WHEREAS, on June 25, 2019, the City Council of the City of Downey adopted
Resolution No. 19-7890, which set a parking fine for a violation of Section 3197.1(3) of
the Downey Municipal Code;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey would like to update and
consolidate all fines for parking violations in the City into a single fine schedule; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council would like to adopt a default fine for any parking
violation for which a specified fine is not otherwise set
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Downey approves the attached
fine/bail schedule for parking violations in the City of Downey, attached hereto as Exhibit
"A" and incorporated herein by this reference.
SECTION 2. Resolution No. 11-7248, adopted January 25, 2011, is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.

FOR
PARKING VIOLATIONS IN THE CITY OF DOWNEY
Unless otherwise specified in the following schedule (or as otherwise mandated by law), the fine
for any parking violation within the City of Downey shall be $38, with a penalty for the delinquent
payment of the fine in the amount of $24 and a DMV fee in the amount of $3 if a hold is placed
on the registration of the vehicle.
