Authorize transfer of $210,000 from CIP Water Fund Account No. 51-1-8674 to CIP Water Fund Account No. 51-1-8690 to cover total project cost; and 3. Authorize Public Works Director/City Engineer to execute any change orders or additional scope of work deemed necessary or desirable up to the approved project budget. T-1191 62fel :tell 10, 1 The Public Works Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of approximately 276 miles of water mains. As part of maintaining the water system, an existing water mainline on Patton Road at the intersection of Stewart and Gray Road is in need of repairs to ensure that the City is able to continue to provide reliable water service and fire protection (Attachment A). Due to the maintenance and repair nature of the water work, the project was informally bid January 16, 2020. On January 24, 2020, four bids were received ranging from $159 , 800 $313,500. All Cities Engineering, Inc. state contractor's license is "current and active" and they are registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) for Labor Compliance. Staff recommends that the City Council award a contract to All Cities Engineering, Inc. for the construction of Patton Road Water Main Improvements, MP 344. The scope of water repairs include replacement of approximately 45 feet of water mains, associated fixings and connections on Patton Road from Fontana Street to just south of the intersection at Stewart and Gray Road. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of March 2020. This project is categorically exempt per Section 15302 Class 2 (c) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines.
