HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Commission & Committees Vacancy List - ALL (01-22-20)GREEN TASK FORCE VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 5 (Citywide) MEETINGS: Fourth Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Review and make recommendations to the City Council regarding energy; waste reduction; urban design, urban nature, transportation, environmental health; water; and any other matters specifically requested to be reviewed by the City Council. VACANCIES: TWO (2) - At -Large (Citywide) MEETINGS: Meets as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and physically challenged. DUTIES: Conduct hearings on written appeals regarding handicapped access compliance requirements for construction. VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 4 (Northeast portion of City) MEETINGS: 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Cormack Room of the Library at 6:30 p.m. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: To make recommendations to the City Council regarding the operation and conduct of the City Library. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Hear appeals of officers or employees under the Personnel system; advise on personnel administration and rules & regulations. PUBLIC FACILITIES FINANCING CORPORATION VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 2 (Southwest portion of the City) ONE (1) — District 3 (Northwest portion of the City) ONE (1) — District 4 (Northeast portion of City) MEETINGS: Annually in February QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: A non-profit benefit corporation of the City to provide financing, acquisition, construction, improvement and remodeling of public building and facilities. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 2 (Southwest portion of the City) MEETINGS: Third Thursday of the Month at 4:00 p.m. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Review and make recommendations to the City Council regarding traffic and parking, solid waste and recycling, wastewater collection and disposal, air quality, hazardous waste, public utilities, transportation and mobility, water supply, energy consumption and conservation, urban runoff and water quality, urban blight and streetscape and other matters affecting a healthy and safe environment. DUTIES: Collaborate with the City's Consultant and City staff to set the vision and goals, and to create an Urban Forest Management Plan that will be implemented upon completion. WATER FACILITIES COPORATION VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 1 (Southeast portion of the City) ONE (1) — District 4 (Northeast portion of the City) ONE (1) — District 5 (Citywide) MEETINGS: Annual Meeting First Thursday in October at 7:30 p.m. in Personnel/Training Room, 2nd FI. City Hall. QUALIFICATIONS: Voter of the City and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: Issuance of leasehold mortgage bonds to acquire and/or construct a water supply and distribution system. YOUTH COMMISSION VACANCIES: ONE (1) — District 1 (Southeast portion of the City) MEETINGS: Third Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be in grades 91h — 12th and reside in the respective District during the entire term of appointment. DUTIES: The Downey Youth Commission's purpose is leadership development; civic/local government education; provide City Council with youth input; and, completion of annual assignments/priorities from the City Council.
