Approve final contract amount of $46,960.27; and 3. Authorize the Public Works Director/City Engineer to file the Notice of Completion with the Los Angeles County Recorder's office. Maintenance of the City streets' pavement striping and markings is essential to traffic and pedestrian safety. In order to maintain adequate visibility and enhance traffic safety, pavement restriping and replacement of pavement markers are conducted every two or three years depending on the type of pavement, roadway condition and usage. On May 28, 2019, the City Council awarded a contract to J & S Striping, Inc. in the amount of $45,817.27 for the Citywide Pavement Restriping Project. The project started on August 12, 2019 and was completed on September 6, 2019. The work included pavement restriping and replacement of pavement legends and markers on 107 street segments in the City (Attachment A). A change order in the amount of $1,145 for additional striping, installation of pavement legends and markers and bonding was approved for this project. The final contract amount was $46,960.27. All work was completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Savings in the amount of $23,039.73 Will be available for reprogramming.
