APPROVED Ejy TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCPITY MANAGER FROM: OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER BY: JOHN OSKOUI, P.E., ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: ACCEPTING THE COMPLETION OF ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS — TEMPORARY FIRE STATION FACILITY — CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 19-37A That the City Council: Accept the completion of the Electrical Improvements — Temporary Fire Stati Facility Project — Capital Improvement Project (CIP) No. 19-37A; and I 2. Approve the final construction contract amount of $107,440.00; and 3. Authorize the Notice of Completion to be filed with the County of Los Angeles 'Recorder's Office. On March 26, 2019, the City Council approved the plans and specifications for the subject project and granted authority to advertise for bids. On April 23, 2019, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Huntington Beach Electric in the amount of $91,440.00 for completion of the subject project. JTM�� Huntington Beach Electric started the project on April 27, 2019. Work included installation of security lighting, and power for Dorms & Dayroom Trailer, Lockers and Showers Trailer, Fire Truck Canopy, and the Library Trailer. The temporary site electrical requirements also included installation of two (2) 75kva outdoor rated transformers, two (2) 200A outdoor panels, twenty-four (24) temporary light poles with flood lights, eight (8) exterior L.E.D. wall pack lights and numerous L.E.D. strip lights for the Fire Truck Canopy, interior lighting of the Fire Department's three (3) storage containers, and other miscellaneous related work which was completed on May 10, 2019. During the course of construction, it became necessary to expand the project with additional electrical improvements for the Library interim storage and office space. ACCEPTING THE COMPLETION OF ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS - TEMPORARY FIRE STATION FACILITY - CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 19-37A JUNE 25, 2019 PAGE 2 The total cost of the Library expansion was $16,000.00, which was addressed through contract Change Order No. 1. The total cost of construction is $107,440.00. The project's total cost including construction, other site improvements, design, inspection, construction engineering, contract administration is $117,440.00 (Attachment A). Construction work, including the original scope of work, as well as change order No. 1, has been completed in a satisfactory manner. As such, it is recommended that the City Council accept the Electrical Improvements — Temporary Fire Station Facility Project, CIP No. 19-37A as complete, approve the final construction cost of $107,440.00, and authorize the Notice of Completion to be filed with the County of Los _Angeles Recorder's Office. Efficiency & Adaptability Quality of Life, Neighborhood & Infrastructure The City's Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget includes funding for this project in the amount of _$125,584.00 from Measure S Capital Improvement Program Funds (Account Nos. - 33 -1-3301-0520, -33-1-3312-0520, 33-1-3313-0520, 33-1-3314-0520, and 33-1-3303- 0520). The total cost of the project is $117,440.00, leaving a balance of $8,144.00 which will be reallocated to the Measure S Capital Improvement Funds (Account Nos. 33-1-3301-0520, 33-1-3312-0520, 33-1-3313-0520, and 33-1-3314-0520).
