CIP 19-17-Accept Work for Audio System in Council Chambers-File Notice of CompletionU41-1101 CITY MANA • HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS • THE CITY.COUNCIL `• OFFICE • THE CITY MANAGER BY: DELFINO R. •' PE, DIRECTOR • PUBLIC WORKS/CITY TATE: JUNE 11, 2019 SUBJECT: ACCEPT WORK FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS OF THE AUDIO SYSTEM IN THE CITY •, CHAMBERS, CAPITAL • .. • J E C T 100. 119 -17 That the City Council: 1) Accept work for Maintenance and Repairs of the Audio System in the City Council Chambers, Capital Improvement Project No. 19-17; 2) Approve final construction contract amount of $78,611.16; and 3) Authorize Public Works Director/City Engineer to file Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles Recorder's Office. lueT0614kIED On August 28, 2019, the City Council awarded a contract to SybaTek in the amount of $83,957.60 for the Maintenance and Repairs of the Audio System in the City Council Chambers, Capital Improvement Project No. 19-17. This project replaced the audio electronics, including audio server, input and output microphone cards, gooseneck microphones, and appurtenances to convert the audio system to digital compatible with the Crestron video system. Maintenance and repair work started on January 4, 2019 and was completed on May 8, 2019. Public Works and Information Technology staff conducted a final inspection on May 8, 2019 and determined that all work was completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. There were two change orders approved for this project. Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $1,231.56 was for additional materials and equipment while Change Order No. 2 was a credit in the amount of $6,578 for deletion of closed captioning encoder from the project. Consequently, the final construction contract amount was $78,611.16. ACCEPTANCE OF REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF THE AUDIO SYSTEM AT COUNCIL CHAMBERS JUNE 11, 2019 PAGE 2 Staff is recommending that the City Council accept the work for Capital Improvement Project No. 19-17 as complete and authorize the Public Works Director/City Engineer to file the Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles Recorder's Office. Efficiency & Adaptability Quality of Life, Infrastructure & Parks Public Engagement FISCAL IMPACT The total project cost, including construction contract and approved change orders is $78,611.16 and funded through Cable TV PEG funds.
