I The City's Pavement Management Information System (PMIS) is the primary tool used to prioritize street pavement rehabilitation projects throughout the City. The City's PMIS evaluates, ranks and prioritizes each City street segment based on surface conditions (cracking, surface failures, etc.), pavement structural strength, and other field observations. Street segments earmarked for improvements are identified as priorities based on the condition of the pavement for the given street segment relative to the pavement condition of other street segments throughout the City. The residential street segments identified as priorities for improvements are either in a state of minor deterioration and can be inexpensively repaired with minor maintenance methods such as resurfacing while other residential street segments identified are deteriorated to a state of disrepair beyond what ordinarily could be handled through routine street maintenance practices and must be reconstructed. Ultimately, the pavement rehabilitation on the residential street segments will raise the condition of the pavement to an acceptable standard and will extend the life of the infrastructure by twenty years. The plans and specifications for the subject project are complete and the project is now ready for solicitation of bids. The residential streets programmed for pavement rehabilitation under this project include 42 residential street segments with a total length of approximately 30,540 feet or 5.8 centerline miles. The locations and list of the various residential street segments are included as Attachments A and B. The residential street pavement rehabilitation work to be completed under this project generally consists of the reconstruction of failed pavement areas, removal and reconstruction of asphalt CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 19-13 FY 2018/19 RESIDENTIAL STREET PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT FEBRUARY 26, 2019 PAGE 2 concrete base course adjacent to concrete gutters, cold milling of asphalt pavement, and the placement of asphalt concrete leveling course and asphalt concrete overlay. In addition, uplifted, damaged or substandard curb, gutter, cross gutters, sidewalk, driveway approaches and curb access ramps will be repaired or replaced in order to comply with the latest Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Construction work is anticipated to begin in April 2019 and to be completed in June 2019.
