The Paramount Boulevard corridor is a major arterial highway and is one of the heaviest
traveled north -south corridors within the City, accommodating both regional as well as local
traffic. Due to the significance and function of this corridor, Paramount Boulevard is in need of
enhancements related to safety, infrastructure improvements and beautification in order to bring
it up to current standards.
Staff conducted an extensive public outreach process in order to engage the residents and
businesses to ensure that they were aware of the proposed median islands and provide an
#,pportunity to give input and comment on the proposed median islands. Public meetings we
held on April 27, 2016 and June 30, 2016 and staff evaluated the public's input and commen
4nd incorporated their input as part of the project.
The plans and specifications for the subject project are complete and the project is now ready
for solicitation of bids. The project covers approximately 1.5 miles of roadway and the scope -of -
