CONSUNJI, P.E., DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/C R DATE: OCTOBER 23, 2018 SUBJECT' FLORENCE AVENUE BRIDGE AT SAN GABRIEL RIVER MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR PROJECT, CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 19-19 APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZE SOLICITATION FOR BIDS That the City Council approve the plans and specifications and authorize solicitation for bids for the Florence Avenue Bridge at San Gabriel River Maintenance and Repair Project, Capital Improvement Project No. 19-19. I The City received a list of recommended maintenance and repairs from the LACD"i for the bridge on Florence Avenue at the San Gabriel River. Some of the recommended repairs ha already been completed by City maintenance staff; however, the remaining repairs including concrete bridge deck patching and expansion joint cleaning and sealing would require hiring contractor to perform the repairs. I W�e I Biggs Cardosa Associates, Inc. to prepare the plans, specifications and cost estimate for this project. The design has been completed and the project is now ready for solicitation of bids. The repair work consists of cleaning out expansion joints and resealing; repairing •.:.. is concrete areas of the bridge deck; shot blasting the deck; applying a protective coat on the bridge deck; and restriping.
