Accept the Slurry Sea roject District 2, apital Improvement Project (CIP) No. 18-03 as complete; and C. Authorize the Public Works Director to file the Notice of Completion With the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office. On January 23, 2018, the City Council approved the plans and specifications for the subject project and granted authority to advertise for bids. On April 10, 2018, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Doug Martin Contracting Company, Incorporated in the amount of $228,212.60 for CIP No. 18-03. On May 29, 2018, work commenced and was completed on June 25, 2018. Under the Slurry Seal Project District 2, a total of 44 street segments were slurry sealed, covering approximately 6.5 centerline miles (34,416 centerline feet) of roadway. Specifically, the improvements included the application of hot rubberized crack/joint sealant and Type 11 slurry seal; replacement of traffic striping and pavement markings; and installation of thermoplastic yellow crosswalks adjacent to schools. 1711 fews.7 as C•m•lete. The total estimated project cost is $243,723.75 which includes the design, construction contract, asphalt patching, crack sealing, construction management, inspection and contract administration costs (Attachment 1). Sufficient funds, in the amount of $250,000 under Account No. 32-1-6718, were programmed for this project in the FY 2017-18 Capital Improvement Program to cover the total project costs. The funding source is Senate Bill (SB) 1 funds. Project savings in the amount of $6,276.25 will be available for future reprogramming.
