TOURNAMENT GOLF DONATION
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council approve the donation of one foursome of golf at the Rio Hondo Golf
Course in support of the St. Pius X / St. Mathias Academy First Annual Warrior Cup Golf
Tournament.
St. Pius X / St. Matthias Academy, is holding their first annual PMA Golf Tournament fundraiser
to support all PMA Athletic Programs. St. Pius X -St. Matthias Academy provides a challenging
college -preparatory education in a supportive learning community that positively affects the lives
of teenagers. The Warrior Athletic Fund supports student athletes' quest for excellence.
Through the support of the teams, students have the opportunity to participate regardless of
financial challenges. The 1st Annual Warrior Cup Golf Tournament is being held at the Rio
Hondo Golf Course on Friday June 15, 2018.
In helping to support this long-standing community organization, Council is asked to consider
ratifying the donation of one foursome of golf to the Golf Tournament fundraiser event.
A round of golf ranges from $20 for Downey resident youth and seniors on weekdays to $49 per
person on weekends and holidays. The current agreement with the Rio Hondo Golf Course
operator allows the City Council to authorize the City Manager's approval of courtesy play when
the use benefits the City as approved by Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total financial impact of donation of one foursome of golf is approximately $196 applied to
account 52-3-6630.
