The City's Pavement Management Information System (PMIS) is the primary tool used to prioritize street pavement rehabilitation projects throughout the City. The City's PMIS evaluates, ranks and prioritizes each City street segment based on surface conditions (cracking, surface failures, etc.), pavement structural strength, and other field observations. Street segments earmarked for improvements are identified as a priority based on the condition of the pavement for a given street segment relative to the pavement condition of other street segments throughout the City. The residential street segments identified as a priority for improvements are either in a state of minor deterioration and can be inexpensively repaired with minor maintenance methods such as resurfacing while other residential street segments identified are deteriorated to a state of disrepair beyond what ordinarily could be handled through routine street maintenance practices and must be reconstructed. Ultimately, the pavement rehabilitation on the residential street segments will raise the condition of the pavement to an acceptable standard and will extend the life of the infrastructure by a minimum of twenty years. r •- Plans and specifications for the subject project are complete and the project is now ready for solicitation of bids. The residential streets programmed for pavement rehabilitation under this project include 27 residential street segments with a total length of approximately 27,779 feet. The locations and list of the various residential street segments are attached. The residential street pavement rehabilitation work to be completed under this project generally consists of the reconstruction of failed pavement areas, removal and reconstruction of asphalt concrete base course adjacent to concrete gutters, cold milling of asphalt pavement, and the placement of an asphalt concrete leveling course and an asphalt concrete overlay. In addition, •p Improvement Project No. 18-02 March 27, 2018 uplifted, damaged or substandard curb, gutter, cross gutters, sidewalk, driveway approaches and curb ramps will be repaired or replaced. ; MEMEM The total project cost is estimated at $1,850,000. This includes the cost of design, construction, project administration, inspection and contingencies. Funds in the amount of $389,235 in Gas Tax funds, $400,000 in Measure R funds and $1,060,765 in Vehicle Impact Fee funds have been programmed in the current FY 2017/2018 Capital Improvement Program under Account Nos. 30-1-6717, 56-1-6717 and 38-1-6717, respectively, to cover the total project cost. A detailed cost estimate will be presented at the time of the award of the construction contract.
