HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 17-7743-Authorizing City Manager to Execute Quitclaim Deeds Vacating Easement For Water Distribution Facility on True Ave• i e i � ': � •rid '!l WHEREAS, on February 28, 2017, the City Council approved plans and specifications for the True Avenue Water System Improvement Project (Project) between Blandwood Road and Metro Street and granted authority to advertise for bids. WHEREAS, on April 11, 2017, the City Council awarded the Project to Williams Pipeline Contractors, Inc. WHEREAS, on June 5, 2017, Project work commenced and was completed on September 6, 2017. WHEREAS, the Project resulted in construction of a new 6 -inch main and other water system improvements on True Avenue and abandonment of an existing 6 -inch water main and other water facilities within an easement on and across three (3) private properties. WHEREAS, said easement for installation, operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, alteration, and removal of water distribution facilities and appurtenances was reserved under Resolution No. 5355 recorded with Los Angeles County Recorder under instrument No. 90- 1933353 on October 23, 1990. WHEREAS, as a result of this project, said existing utility easement located on the eastside of True Avenue between Metro Street and Blandwood Road is no longer needed for water distribution facility purposes and should be vacated. WHEREAS, vacating the easement for water distribution facility will be accomplished through execution and recordation of the attached quitclaim deeds for three properties under Assessor Parcel Numbers (APNs) 6388-029-101, 6388-029-116, and 6388-029-117 NOW, i . COUNCIL• 'r THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute quitclaim deeds vacating easement for water distribution facility purposes across certain private properties on the eastside of True Avenue between Metro Street and Blandwood Road attached herein as Attachment "A", Attachment "B", and Attachment "C".
