I. CALL TO ORDER:
Committee Chair Frey called the meeting to order at 4:10 P.M.
II. CONSENT CALENDAR:
Committee Member Gendreau made a motion to approve the Minutes of the February 16, 2016 meeting. The motion was seconded by Committee Member Carcamo. The subsequent vote was
six to one in favor. Committee Member Lamkin abstained due to his absence from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as written.
III. OLD BUSINESS:
None.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
1. Update on the I-5 Fwy Widening Project
Mr. Norris gave an update on the I-5 Widening Project, specifically the Florence Avenue Bridge. Discussion followed.
V. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS

1. Committee Member Cotaya acknowledged and appreciated Mr. Mostahkami and Mr.
Norris’ presence at the Neighborhood Watch Meeting the previous night.
VII. STAFF COMMUNICATIONS
Updates were given on the following:
1. Old River School Road south of Firestone Blvd. – restoration of two-way left-turn lane
striping to allow left-turns will be done next week. 2. Florence Ave./Arrington Intersection - staff confirmed that there are three “Do Not
Block Intersection” signs posted at the westbound direction and “Keep Clear”
marking which will be repainted soon.
3. Bellflower Blvd. and Imperial Highway Intersection Project – to wrap up by end of April.
4. Residential Pavement Rehabilitation Project – tentatively scheduled to seek
authorization to advertise the project for construction. 5. Traffic Signal Upgrade Project at nine intersections throughout the city.
6. Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Brookshire Avenue from Imperial Hwy-
Gardendale St. and Florence Ave to Firestone. 7. Installation of bike route signs on Brookshire Ave.
8. Next phase of the Lakewood Blvd. Project is in the works between Gallatin and
Florence Avenue and is waiting for a permit from Caltrans. 9. Lighting Retrofit Project –Lakewood Blvd. between 5th Street and Gardendale St.
