SUBJECT: PLN-16-00215 (FINAL PARCEL MAP) – A REQUEST FOR APPROVAL
OF FINAL PARCEL MAP NO 73581 TO COMBINE THREE LOTS INTO A
SINGLE PARCEL
LOCATION: 9515 LAKEWOOD BLVD
ZONING: C-2 (GENERAL COMMERCIAL)
DISCUSSION
On November 18, 2015, the Planning Commission approved Tentative Parcel Map No. 73581 to
combine three lots into a single parcel. The 3.86-acre site is on the southwest corner of
Lakewood Blvd. and Gallatin Rd. It is zoned C-2 (General Commercial) and has a General Plan
Land Use Designation of General Commercial. This map is part of the redevelopment of the
site from a former car dealership to a multi-tenant shopping center called the Downey
Crossroads.
Municipal Code Section 9924 requires that the Planning Commission and City Council approve
the final map prior to it being recorded. Both the Public Works Department and Planning
Division have reviewed the final map and have determined that the map complies with the
requirements of the Subdivision Map Act, the City’s Municipal Code, and the project approvals.
Staff is recommending that the Planning Commission adopt a minute action, thereby
recommending the City Council approve Final Parcel Map 73581.
