That the City Council provide direction on how to best address the Green Task Force's lack of
quorum issue.

The Green Task Force was created in 2010 in order to foster greater environmental awareness
and ensure the continued implementation of sustainable practices throughout the City. The
duties of the Green Task Force are advisory in nature, including reviewing and making
recommendations to the City Council regarding environmental issues. The group is made up of
ten (10) appointed task members, with each City Council Member having two appointees.
The Green Task Force is scheduled to meet every 4t" Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
During this past year, the group has not been able to hold several meetings due to lack of
quorum. Since January 2015, the group has only met three (3) times (February, May and
October). The Green Task Force is required to have a quorum of six (6) members to hold a
meeting. Typically, only five (5) members have been available for meetings.
Councilmember Vasquez recently requested that staff provide a report on how to best address
the Green Task Force's lack of quorum issue.
The following are options for the City Council to consider to help resolve this issue:
Option members,
Member having one appointee.
The quorum requirement then becomes 3, rather than 6.
