CITY OF DOWNEY - PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
August 20, 2015
I. CALL TO ORDER:
The Committee Chair, Joan Frey, called the meeting to order at 4:10 P.M.
Mr. Huerta was introduced as a new committee member representing Dist. 4.
II. CONSENT CALENDAR: Committee Member Vergara made a motion to approve the Minutes of the July 16, 2015
meeting. The motion was seconded by Vice-Chair Lamkin. The subsequent vote was eight
to zero in favor of approving the minutes as written and one abstaining.
III. OLD BUSINESS:

1. Capital Improvement Project Updates
Mr. Norris updated the committee on the following capital improvement projects:

VI. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS
Committee Member Gendreau thanked the staff for listening to her concerns regarding the
removal of trees on Horley Avenue.
Chair Frey reported trash on Paramount Blvd. at the entrance of I-5 South.
VII. STAFF COMMUNICATIONS
Mr. Mostahkami announced the upcoming Water Conservation Symposium which will be
held on August 26, 2015 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 at the City of Downey Council Chambers. A
flier was distributed to the committee members.
VII. NEXT MEETING: September 17, 2015 The Public Works Committee meeting was adjourned at 6:05 P.M.
