ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 23, 2014
Mayor Vasquez called to order an Adjourned Regular Meeting at 5:30 p.m., September 23,
2014, in the Council Chamber of the Downey City Hall, 11111 Brookshire Avenue, Downey.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Mayor Vasquez opened the meeting for Public Comment. Having no one come forward, Mayor
Vasquez closed Public Comment.
APPROVED CLOSED SESSION MINUTES: August 26, 2014: Administration.
It was moved by Council Member Saab, seconded by Council Member Brossmer, and
unanimously carried to approve the minutes.
RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION
The Council recessed to Closed Session (5:34 p.m.) to discuss matters under the authority of
the following sections of the Government Code:
1. Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(4) — Initiation of Litigation: One (1) potential case.
2. Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(3) — Anticipation of Litigation: One (1) potential case.
3. Government Code Section 54956.8 — Conference with real property negotiators: City
Manager Livas /Director of Community Development Schindler Re: 11911 Woodruff Avenue:
Negotiating Parties: John and Annice Lin & James Chang; Under Negotiations: Price and
Terms.
4. Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) - Conference with Legal Counsel - Existing
Litigation: City of Cerritos, et al. v. WRD, LASC Case No. BS128136.

RECONVENED
The meeting reconvened in open session at 6:36 p.m. with all Council Members present. City
Attorney Abich Garcia stated that for Item Nos. 1 and 2 the City Council received a status report and
gave direction to its legal counsel. Item No. 3, the City Council received a report and gave direction
to its real property negotiators. Item No. 4, the City Council received a status report but took no
formal action.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 6::38 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., October 14, 20
