SUBJECT: PLN -14- 00051- REVISION "D" TO PLN -11 -00105 (CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT) TO EXTEND THE HOURS OF OPERATION AND LIVE
ENTERTAINMENT TO 4:00 A.M., TO ALLOW PERFORMANCE ART
DANCERS, AND TO ALLOW VALET PARKING AT CLUB DB LOUNGE
LOCATION: 8206 -8212 FIRESTONE BLVD.

DISMISSION
June 10, 2014, staff received a request from Hayk Gervorkyan, for the Planning Commission to
postpone the public hearing on PLN -14- 00051. Mr. Gervorkyan is the owner of Club DB Lounge
and the Applicant for this project. PLN -14 -00051 proposes to revise a previously approved
conditional use permit (PLN -12- 00105) to extend the hours of operation and live entertainment at
Club DB to 4:00 a.m., to allow performance art dancers as live entertainment, and to allow valet
parking at Club DB Lounge. The purpose of the extension request is to allow the City time to
evaluate additional information regarding dance clubs in the vicinity that feature go -go dancers.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Planning Commission continue the public hearing on PLN -14 -60051 to
a date uncertain.

I, Hyak Gevorkyan, hereby request that the City of Downey continue the public hearing on PLN-
14- 00051, my proposal to revise a previously approved conditional use permit (PLN- 11=00105)
to extend the hours of operation and live entertainment to 4:00 a.m., to allow valet parking, and
to allow performance art dancers (go -go dancers) as live entertainment at Club DB Lounge,
located at 8206 Firestone Boulevard. The purpose of this request is to allow the City time for
evaluating additional data regarding clubs that feature go -go dancers in nearby.
I acknowledge that the additional review is necessary for the City to make its decision on my
project, and as such, I agree that I will supply all requested information to the City in a timely
manner and I will not hold the City liable for delays in supplying such information. I further
acknowledge that the continuance will be to a date uncertain; thus, the City will be required to
re- notice my project in order for it to be scheduled for a public hearing and not later than
September 23, 2014.
