Home My WebLink AboutMinutes-04-14-88-Adjourned Regular MeetingZ5�+a1� MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETINGS APRIL 14, 1988 Breakfast was held at 7:00 a.m. The City Council/Community Development Commission of the City of Downey held an Adjourned Regular Meeting at 7:30 a.m., April 14, 1988, at Baker's Square Restaurant, 7954 E. Imperial Highway, Downey. Mayor/Chairman Boggs stated that the meeting is held at the invitation of the Citizens for Downey Committee and relinquished the chair to Mr. Edward DiLoreto, Chairman of that Committee. PRESENT: Council Members/Commissioners: Diane P. Boggs Mayor/Chairman Robert G. Cormack Mayor Pro Tem/Vice-Chairman James S. Santangelo ABSENT: Randall R. Barb (excused) Roy L. Paul (excused) Don Davis, City Manager (excused) Peter Thorson, City Attorney (excused) Jenny Young, City Clerk/Secretary (excused) ALSO PRESENT: Members of the Citizens for Downey Committee News Tribune Reporter 4 citizens The Invocation was delivered by Evelyn Mackaig. The Flag Salute was led by Joe Ferris. Mr. Ferris was the moderator for the meeting. The invitation from the Citizens for Downey Committee stated the purpose of the meeting as follows: "The purpose of the meeting is to meet and inform each member of the City Council on a personal, informal basis and disclose our aims for the future benefit of all of Downey's citizens. We are concerned with residents, professional people and business people and wish to improve all areas involving the City Government and the people of Downey and attempt to create a better and more efficient and a more friendly climate for all concerned." Members of the Committee identified concerns in various categories and there was a question and answer period. THERE WERE NO ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE COUNCIL/COMMISSION. ADJOURNMENT: 9:20 a.m. Mayor/Chairman Boggs resumed the Chair for the Council/Commission and adjourned this meeting to 6:30 p.m., April 26, 1988, in the Council Chamber of the Downey City Hall. Note: Mayor/Chairman Boggs transmitted this record of the meeting to the City Clerk for Minutes to be prepared. The Adjourned Meeting was posted pursuant to law.
