HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes-05-06-71-Special Called MeetingMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY SPECIAL CALLED MEETING - MAY 6, 1971 The City Council of the City of Downey held a Special Called Meeting at 4:30 p.m., May 6, 1971, in the Council Chamber of the Downey City Hall, Mayor Joseph G. Ferris presiding. PRESENT: Councilmen: Jennings, Hollis, Ferris ABSENT: Councilmen: Morton, Winton ALSO PRESENT: Charles W. Thompson, City Manager Donald B. Robison, Assistant City Manager Loren D. Morgan, Police Chief Ellen C. Davis, City Clerk The City Clerk reported that the Notice of this Special Called Meeting was posted as required by law, and notice of the Special Called Meeting was given as required by law. Councilman Richard M. Jennings delivered the invocation, followed by the Flag Salute led by Councilman Giles D. Hollis. The Mayor declared that this Special Meeting was called for the purpose of considering personnel matters. It was moved by Councilman Jennings, seconded by Councilman Hollis, and passed by the following vote to recess the meeting to executive session , in the City Manager's Office to consider personnel matters. AYES: 3 Councilmen: Jennings, Hollis, Ferris NOES: 0 Councilmen: None ABSENT: 2 Councilmen: Morton, Winton The Meeting resumed at 6:45 p.m. with a roll call, as follows: PRESENT: Councilmen: Winton, Jennings, Hollis, Ferris ABSENT: Councilmen: Morton It was moved by Councilman Winton, seconded by Councilman Jennings, and passed by the following vote to adjourn to 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 10, 1971, in the City Manager's Office, Downey City Hall.
