OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
HELD APRIL 15th, 1958
The City Council of the City of Downey held an adjourned meeting
in the Council Chambers of the Downey City Hall at 8:00 A.M., April
15, 1958. Mayor Carroll M. Dunnum presided.
PRESENT: Councilmen: Temple, Dunnum, Stamps, Peavey
ABSENT: Councilman: Giddings
With Mayor Carroll M. Dunnum acting as the judge, and Councilman
Peavey and Councilman Temple acting as clerks, the ballots of the April
8th election were canvassed. The absentee ballots were also canvassed
and counted at this time.
Councilman Giddings took his place at the council table at 8:50 a.m.
RESOLUTION NO. 226
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY DECLARING, BY PRECINCTS IN THE WHOLE OF
SAID CITY, THE RESULT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD THEREIN ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1958,
AND DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE VOTE OF SAID
ELECTION AND THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF THE
VOTERS CAST AT SAID ELECTION.
The resolution was read by title only. It was moved by Councilman
Temple, seconded by Councilman Giddings, and carried that further reading
be waived.
`^ It was moved by Councilman Peavey, seconded by Councilman Stamps, and
passed by the.following vote that Resolution No. 226 be adopted:
5 AYES: Councilmen: Giddings, Stamps, Temple, Peavey, Dunnum
0 NOES: Councilmen: None
0 ABSENT: Councilmen: None
It was moved by Councilman Giddings, seconded by Councilman Stamps,
and so ordered that the meeting adjourn at 9:25 a.m.
