HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes-06-17-57-Regular Meeting113 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY HELD JUNE 17 ,1957 The City Council of the City of Downey held a special meeting in the Council Chambers of the Downey City Hall at 11:45 A.M. , on June 17th, 1957 for the purpose of approving demands. Mayor Pre - Tempore Peavey presided. PRESENT: COUNCILMEN: Carroll M. Dunnum, Hollis M. Peavey Scott E. Temple, Edwin W. Giddings ABSENT: COUNCILMAN: James L. Stamps ALSO PRESENT: Oren L. King, City Manager Glenn Kendall, Assistant City Manager Della Doyle, City Clerk The City Manager presented demands No. 261 thru No. 293 for the Council's consideration. It was moved by Councilman Temple, seconded by Councilman Giddings, and unanimously carried that the City Council, after audit of demands No. 261 thru No. 293 finds and determines that the demands are proper and the total amount thereof does not exceed the income and revenue for the year in which the indebtedness was incurred, but that there are not sufficient funds available for the payment of said demands on their due date, and the same shall not be approved for want of funds. The City Clerk shall endorse upon the demand the fact that the demands have been audited by the City Council and not approved for want of funds. AYES: 4 Councilmen: Dunnum, Giddings, Temple, Peavey NOES: 0 ABSENT: 1 Councilman: Stamps The meeting adjourned at I2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 19th, 1957, in the Council Chambers. i, i i City Clerk
