"I. on January 7, 1957, Mayor Stamps presiding. PRESEPPl: COUNCILiI}�N: Dunmam, Giddings, Peavey, Temple, Stamps. Mr. James Lacey, Secretary of the Y. A. C. A. presented plans for the launchin- of a campaign to raise funds for the Y'1CA. He asked that the Councilmen lend their support and names to the campaign. The Council went on record supporting this action. Mr. Earl Rafferty, of North Anerican Aviation, asked that North American be allowed to place and use a portable, temporary street signal at the inter- section of Imperial and Ardis, between their two buildings, until such a time as the permanent signals and controls can be installed. The Council requested that a letter be presented before Wednesday, January 9th so that a final decision could be made. It was moved by Councilman Peavey, seconded by Councilman Temple, and unanimously carried that the Planning Commission make a study of the City's Zoning procedures and make recommendations as to possible changes and simplifications. It was moved by Councilman Temple, seconded by Councilman Peavey, and unanimously carried that the Council approve Section 10, the Emergency Clause, of Ordinance No. 8. It was moved by Councilman Peavey, seconded by Councilman Dunnum, and unanimously carried by a roll call vote, that Ordinance No. 8 be arproved and adopted as read. It was moved by Councilman Temple, seconded by Councilman Giddings, and unanimously carried by a roll call vote, that Ordinance No. 7 be approved and adopted as read.
