OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
REGULAR MEETING
MAY 8, 2007
The Community Development Commission of the City of Downey held a Regular Meeting at
7:38 p.m., May 8, 2007, in the Council Chamber of the Downey City Hall, 11111 Brookshire Avenue,
Downey, California, Chairperson Rick Trejo presiding.

The Invocation was delivered by Associate Pastor Jason Jenkins, Trinity Baptist tist Church.
The Flag Salute was led by Mayor Pro Tem David Gafin.
CONSENT CALENDAR – ITEMS FOR REMOVAL:
3. APPROVE ACQUISITION OF MULTI - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT
9303 ELM VISTA DRIVE FOR $1,050,000: Development Services. This item was pulled by
Vice - Chairperson Gafin and is listed under Other Business below.
CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Commissioner Cartozian, seconded by Vice - Chairperson Gafin, and
unanimously carried to approve the remainder of the Consent Calendar items as recommended:

1. APPROVED COMMISSION MINUTES: Adjourned Meeting April 19, 2007 and Regular
Meeting April 24, 2007: Secretary.

OTHER BUSINESS:
CONSENT CALENDER — ITEMS REMOVED BY COMMISSION APPROVAL:
3. APPROVED ACQUISITION OF MULTI - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT
9303 ELM VISTA DRIVE FOR $1,050,000: Development Services.
Vice - Chairman Gafin noted that this is an existing high density area and asked if the property
would be maintained at the 4 existing units or Tess and was informed that it would stay the same.
Guy Sterner, President of the Project Area Committee (PAC), stated that the PAC supports
the purchase of this property and is recommending that the property be used for single - family homes
available to all citizens regardless of economic status. He presented to Chief Deputy City Clerk
Doyle copies of a statement of support for this property acquisition for distribution to the Commission.
It was moved by Vice - Chairperson Gafin, seconded by Commissioner Bayer and
unanimously carried to approve the acquisition.
The meeting recessed at 7:45 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT
The meeting reconvened for Public Comment at 8:26 p.m., v4th all Commissioners present,
(see Public Comment under Regular City Council Meeting) and recessed at 8:43 p.m.
The meeting reconvened at 9:35 p.m. with all Commissioners present.
ADJOURNMENT: 9:35 p.m.
The meeting adjourned to 6:30 p.m., May 22, 2007.
