OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 22, 2006
The Community Development Commission of the City of Downey held a Regular Meeting at
7:31 p.m., August 22, 2006, in the Council Chamberof the Downey City Hall, 11111 Brookshire
Avenue, Downey, California, Chairman Meredith H. Perkins presiding.
PRESENT: Commissioners:
Meredith H. Perkins Chairman
Rick Trejo Vice - Chairman
David R. Gafin
Kirk 0. Cartozian absent (excused)
Anne M. Bayer
ALSO PRESENT: Lee Powell, Assistant City Manager
Charles S. Vose, City Attomey/Economic Development Director
Joyce E. Doyle, Acting Secretary
Desi Alvarez, Public Works Director
John Michicoff, Finance Director
Thad Phillips, Community Services Director
John Godlewski, City Planner
Mike Miller, Police Captain
Scott Pomrehn, Assistant to the City Manager
Jeff Turner, Fire Captain
Susan Domen, Secretary to the City Clerk
The Invocation was delivered by Pastor Kevin Boyce, Light and Life Christian Fellowship,
Downey. The Flag Salute was led by Council Member David Gafin, District 2.
CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Commissioner Gafin, seconded by Vice - Chairman Trejo, and unanimously
carried (4/0) to approve the Consent Calendar items as recommended:
1. APPROVED COMMISSION MINUTES: Adjourned and Regular Meetings August
08, 2006: Secretary.
2. APPROVED WARRANTS ISSUED: (See City Council Warrant Register): Finance.
The meeting recessed at 7:34 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT
The meeting reconvened for Public Comment at 9:25 p.m. noting the absence of
Commissioner Cartozian, (see Public Comment under Regular City Council Meeting) and recessed
at 9:44 p.m.
