MINUTES OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY REGULAR MEETING MAY 24, 2005 The Community Development Commission of the City of Downey held a Regular Meeting at 7:34 p.m., May 24, 2005 in the Council Chamber of the Downey City Hall, 11111 Brookshire Avenue, Downey, California, Chairman Anne M. Bayer presiding. PRESENT: Commissioners: Anne M. Bayer Chairman Meredith H. Perkins Vice - Chairman Rick Trejo David R. Gafin Kirk 0. Cartozian ALSO PRESENT: Gerald M. Caton, Executive Director Charles S. Vose, Attorney /Economic Development Director Kathleen L. Midstokke, Secretary Lee Powell, Assistant City Manager Desi Alvarez, Director of Public Works John Finch, Chief of Police Bonnie Kehoe, Director of Community Services John Michicoff, Director of Finance Mark Sauter, Fire Chief Ed Velasco, Housing Manager Susan Domen, Executive Secretary The Invocation was delivered by Reverend Rosa Wijesiriwardena, Action Faith Ministries, Downey. The Flag Salute was led by Corporal Kevin McCaster, Downey Police Department. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Commissioner Trejo, seconded by Vice - Chairman Perkins, and unanimously carried to approve the Consent Calendar items as recommended: 1. APPROVED COMMISSION MINUTES: ADJOURNED AND REGULAR MEETINGS MAY 10, 2005: Secretary. 2. APPROVED WARRANTS ISSUED: (see Council Warrant Register): Finance. Community Dev. Comm. Minutes 05/24/05 -1- OTHER COMMISSION BUSINESS 3. APPROVE AMENDEMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR PROPERTY TAX AUDIT AND INFORMATION SERVICES WITH HdL COREN AND CONE, INC.: Administration (continued from May 10, 2005). Assistant City Manager Powell presented a brief staff report explaining that HdL Coren and Cone, Inc. audit and analyze information received from the County regarding property taxes and provide this information to the City. The information is used for four purposes; to complete various reports provided to banks, investment rating agencies, and the State; to help prepare the statistical data section of the City's financial report; to help project future revenue amounts; and, to help track redevelopment and construction activity. It was moved by Commissioner Gafin, seconded by Commissioner Trejo and unanimously carried to approve the amendment to the agreement for property tax audit and information services with HdL Coren and Cone, Inc. PUBLIC COMMENTS The meeting reconvened for Public Comment at 7:46 p.m. with all Commissioners present (see Public Comment under Regular City Council Meeting) and recessed at 8:10 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 8:44 p.m. with all Commissioners present.
