HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6768 RESOLUTION NO. 6768 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY IN SUPPORT OF ASSEMBLY BILL 2158 (STATE ASSEMBLYMAN LOWENTHAL) (HOUSING ELEMENTS: REGIONAL HOUSING NEEDS). WHEREAS, the City of Downey recognizes the need for affordable housing; and WHEREAS, the City of Downey understands the importance of having a Regional Housing Needs Allocation plan, and WHEREAS, there is a need to have the RHNA plan to be consistent with the increasing mix of housing types and equitable distribution of low and very low income households, and WHEREAS, the City of Downey understands the importance of having a RHNA Plan that promotes infill development, promoting jobs-housing balance and avoiding a disproportionate allocation of housing needs for a particular income level, and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2158 would help insure that RHNA process is streamlined without affecting local government activities NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. To express its support to Assembly Bill 2158 and urge its adoption by the State Legislature. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
