HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6746 RESOLUTION NO. 6746 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY APPROVING THE EXISTING PUBLIC ROAD CROSSING IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNION PAIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY (UPRR) AND THE CITY OF DOWNEY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey, in its meeting of February 10, 2004, has approved plans and specifications for the Firestone Boulevard Traffic Signal Synchronization Project under Cash Contract No. S.S. 533; and WHEREAS, part of this project is to improve the intersection of Firestone Boulevard and Old River School Road; WHEREAS, the improvements near Old River School Road encroach into the Union Pacific Railroad Company's right of way; and WHEREAS, the City of Downey has applied for a permit for work on the UPR's right of way, and that UPR has prepared the attached Agreement for execution. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey does hereby approve the attached Public Road Crossing Improvement Agreement. SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of Downey is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement, on behalf of the City of Downey. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and forward two (2) certified copies of this Resolution to the Director of Public Works for transmittal to the Union Pacific Railroad Company.
