Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 5884 RESOLUTION NO. 5884 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1995 -96 WHEREAS, the voters of California on November 6, 1979 added Article XIII -B to the State Constitution placing various limitations on the appropriations of the State and local governments; and WHEREAS, Article XIII -B provides that the appropriations limit for the Fiscal Year 1995 -96 is calculated by adjusting the appropriations limit for fiscal 1994 -95 for changes in the cost of living or per capita personal income (whichever is less) and population; and WHEREAS, the information necessary for making these adjustments is attached in Exhibit I; and WHEREAS, the City of Downey has complied with all of the provisions of Article XIII -B in determining the appropriations limit for FY 1994 -95; and WHEREAS, Proposition 111, which modifies the appropriations limit, was passed on the June 5, 1990 ballot. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE, AS FOLLOWS: ' Section 1. The appropriation limit for 1995 -96 shall be $33,713 249 for the City of Downey. ' Section 2. The appropriations subject to the limit contained in the 1995 -95 Budget are $26,354,149. Section 3. The City shall recalculate the appropriations ro riations limit and appropriations subject to the limit in order to comply with the new rovisions contained in Proposition p p n 111 once the necessary data is available. Section 4.
