A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF DOWNEY GRANTING A ONE --TIME
PAYMENT TO SPECIFIED EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, the City negotiated multi -year agreements with DCEA- Miscellaneous
and DCEA- Maintenance Units which contained no salary increase for 1995; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to consider a one -time payment in lieu of salary
adjustments for these groups; and
WHEREAS, the City has notified the effected employee groups of the offer; •
and
WHEREAS, the employee groups have acknowledged acceptance of the City's
offer; and
WHEREAS, City Council Resolution No. 5290, the Management Performance
Compensation Plan, states that cost -of- living adjustments granted to management
classifications will be no less than that granted to the rank - and -file employees
in their respective departments.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES (HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
k SECTION 1. The City shall pay to those employees covered in Exhibit n, a
one - time payment equal to 3% of the regular scheduled hours worked (exclusive of
overtime) in calendar year 1994. Payment shall be times their current hourly
salary.
SECTION 2. Employees may request and shall be granted the equivalent amount
of vacation hours in lieu of the lump sum payment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution
and provide for the distribution thereof.
