HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5273 RESOLUTION NO. 5273 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ORDERING THE VACATION OF CENTURY BOULEVARD EASTERLY OF BARLIN AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey upon recommendation of the Planning Commission finds that the vacation of said CENTURY BOULEVARD described herein serves the public benefit, it is necessary to vacate said street as shown on the attached map. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is necessary to vacate said street so that the City will be relieved of the responsibility of maintaining a street that is difficult to access and does not serve the general public. This vacation will allow neighborhood residents better control of an isolated area. SECTION 2. The public right -of -way being vacated is described as follows: The ublic right-of-way proposed to be vacated is described g Y p P desc ibed as that portion of Century Boulevard 20.00 feet wide as shown on the map of Tract 27769 in the City of Downey, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 701, Pages 33 and 34 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County lying southeasterly of a line that extends South 29 °36'35" West 20.00 feet from a point on the southwesterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract 27769 that is North 60 °39'45" West thereon 38.97 feet from the southeasterly corner of said lot. Reserving unto Southern California Edison Company, an easement to install, operate, maintain, alter, repair, replace or remove facilities for transmission of electric energy, communications and other purposes in, under, over and across said land. Also reserving unto Pacific Bell an easement to install, operate, maintain, alter, repair, replace or remove facilities for transmission of communications, electric energy and other purposes, in, under, over and across said land. Reserving unto American Cablevision an easement to install, operate, maintain, alter, repair, replace, or remove facilities for transmission of electronic communications in, under, over and across said land. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy thereof, attested to by the City Clerk under the seal of the City of Downey to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
