Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 5263 RESOLUTION NO. 5263 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE CENTURY BOULEVARD SOUTHEASTERLY OF THE SOUTHEASTERLY LINE OF BARLIN AVENUE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey, upon recommendation of the Planning Commission, declares its intention to vacate Century Boulevard lying southeasterly of the southeasterly line of Barlin Avenue as shown on the attached copy of the map on file in the office of the City Clerk to which reference is made for further particulars. The public right -of -way proposed to be vacated is described as that portion of Century Boulevard 20.00 feet wide as shown on the map of Tract 27769 in the City of Downey, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 701, Pages 33 and 34 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County lying southeasterly of a line that extends South 29 ° 36'35" West 20.00 feet from a point on the southwesterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract 27769 that is North 60 ° 39'45" West thereon 38.97 from the southeasterly corner of said lot. SECTION 2. The hour of 7:30 p.m. on the 13th day of March, 1990, is hereby fixed as the time, and the City Council Chambers in the City Hall at 11111 Brookshire Avenue, Downey, California, is fixed as the place for hearing all persons interested in the proposed vacation of said street. SECTION 3. Notices of the proposed vacation shall be posted and /or published in the manner prescribed by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. Effective February 13, 1990, Exhibit I of the City of Downey Compensation Program (Part IX of the Personnel Manual) is hereby amended to include the salary range adjustment for the following classification: Classification Title Pay Table Schedule Salary Range Personnel Analyst 01 26.0 $2965 -$3673 SECTION 2. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Brad Gaston is hereby appointed to the Planning Commission to fulfill the unexpired term left vacant by the resignation of Robert Brazelton. This term will expire June 30, 1990. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to the appointee. WHEREAS, on August 26, 1986, the City Council established, pursuant to Section 33386 of the State of California Health and Safety Code, a Project Area Committee for Redevelopment Plan Amendment No. 4, and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 856 on July 20, 1987, approving Redevelopment Plan Amendment No. 4, and WHEREAS, now that the Plan Amendment has been approved, the purpose of the Project Area Committee is to advise the City Council on policy matters dealing with the planning and provision of residential facilties or replacement housing for those that may be displaced by project activities and WHEREAS, Section 33386 of the Health and Safety Code provides that the Project Area Committee shall remain in existence throughout the preparation of the redevelopment plan and for a three -year period after the adoption of the redevelopment plan, and WHEREAS, Section 33386 further provides that the City Council may extend the Project Area Committee in one -year extensions after the expiration of the original three year term, and WHEREAS, it is the City Council's desire to have the Project Area Committee remain in effect for a one -year period beyond the July 20, 1990, expiration date for the purpose of advising the City Council on any policy matters that may arise during the twelve -month period following that date regarding the provision of residential facilities or replacement housing for those that may be displaced by the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to the authority of Health and Safety Code Section 33386, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby extends the duration of the Project Area Committee for Redevelopment Plan Amendment No. 4 for a period of one -year expiring on July 20, 1991.
