A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DC NEY
AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN OBSOLETE RECORDS
OF THE CITY CLERK
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City that documents, records and
papers of the City be destroyed when they no longer have any use and when such
destruction is permitted by law; and
WHEREAS, the administrative regulations of the City of Downey call for an
orderly plan for the retention, protection and destruction of documents, records
and files; and
WHEREAS, the records desired to be destroyed, which are described in
Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, do not affect the title to
real property or liens thereon; are not court records; are not less than two
years old; and are not the original minutes, ordinances, or resolutions of any
legislative body, board or commission of the City; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'T'Y OF D WHEY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOL OWS :
Section 1. As authorized by Sections 34090 et. seq. of the Government Code
of the State of California, and subject to the approval of the City Attorney,
the City Council hereby approves the destruction of those certain records
described in Exhibit A and authorizes the City Clerk to destroy same.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution; and shall enter a copy of the Resolution in a file which identifies
the records approved for destruction.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of May, •8•.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the
City Council of the City of Downey at a regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd
day of May, 1989, by the following vote, to -wit:
