A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DOWNEY APPROVING DE- ANNEXATION AND ANNEXATION
TO DOWNEY AND SOUTH GATE

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That certain de- annexation and annexation of land in
Downey and South Gate as shown on Exhibit "A" hereof to realign the
boundaries, hereby is approved and the steps shall be taken to initiate
such action and refer the matter to the Local Agency Formation Commission.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof to be filed with the
Local Agency Formation Commission concurrently with the application to
initiate proceedings for de- annexation and annexation.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 26 day of January , 1983.

PARCEL, 1 (FROM CITY OF SOUTH GATE TO CITY OF DOWNEY)
Beginning at an angle point in the boundary of the City of South Gate as
passed and adopted by Resolution No. 3575 of the City Council of said City, on
January 30, 1978, said angle point being in the southwesterly line of Lot 6 of
Tract No. 1205 as shown on map filed in Book 17, Page 176 of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, distant North 59
08' 00" West along said southwesterly line 144.19 feet from the southeasterly
corner of said Lot; thence along said City boundary North 54 16' 20" East
505.39 feet to the beginning of a curve therein concave to the northwest,
having a radius of 1000 feet, tangent to said last mentioned course and
tangent to the southerly prolongation of the centerline of Old River School
Road as shown on map of Tract No. 24291 filed in Book 631, Pages 7 and 8 of
said Maps; thence continuing along said City boundary, northeasterly along
said curve, 574 feet to said prolongation; thence continuing along said City
boundary, northerly along said prolongation to the southeasterly prolongation
of that certain northeasterly line of Tract No. 33853, shown on map recorded
in Book 889, Pages 87 to 89 of said Maps as having a bearing of "South 62 03'
59" East "; thence northwesterly along said prolongation to the southeasterly
terminus of said certain northeasterly line; thence southeasterly, southerly
and southwesterly along the various courses in the northeasterly, easterly and
southeasterly lines of said Tract No. 33853, to the most southerly corner
thereof, being also the southeasterly corner of Tract No. 33114 as shown on
map filed in Book 877, Pages 1 to 4 of said Maps; thence southwesterly along
the southeasterly line of said Tract No. 33114 and along the southwesterly
prolongation thereof to said southwesterly line of Lot 6 of Tract No. 1205;
thence southeasterly along said southwesterly line to the point of beginning.

Beginning at the intersection of the southeasterly line of said Lot with the
easterly line of Garfield Avenue (formerly Michigan Avenue) as described in
deed to the County of Los Angeles recorded in Book 3069, Page 210 of Official
Records, in the office of said Recorder; thence North 41 19' 20" East along
said southeasterly line, 273.71 feet; thence along a line that is
perpendicular to said easterly line of Garfield Avenue, South 84 07' 50" West
200.80 feet to said easterly line; thence South 05 52' 10" East along said
last mentioned line 186 feet to the point of beginning.

Gertrudes Land Association, as shown on map recorded in Book 1, page 502 of
Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the County Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southeasterly line of Lot 1 of Tract No. 1205, as
per map recorded in Book 17, Page 176 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, which point is North 41 19' 20" East along said
southeasterly line, 273.71 feet from the easterly line of Garfield Avenue,
(formerly Michigan Avenue) as described in deed to the County of Los Angeles,
recorded in Book 3069, Page 210 of Official Records, in the office of said
Recorder; thence along a line that is perpendicular to said easterly line,
North 84 07' 50" East 222.57 feet to the westerly line of the Los Angeles and
Salt Lake Railroad Company's Right -of -Way (San Pedro Branch); thence North 19

43' 45" West along said westerly line 172.85 feet to the most easterly corner
