A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY INCORPORATING
A DEFINITION OF RETIREMENT INTO THAT
CERTAIN DOCUMENT ENTITLED DEFINITION
OF TERMS (PART II OF THE PERSONNEL MANUAL).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Definition of Terms (Part II of the Personnel Manual) is
hereby amended to incorporate the following as SECTION 34:
"Retirement" An employee separation may be regarded as a retirement if
the separating employee is eligible for retirement under the Public
Employees' Retirement System ( P.E.R.S) and has filed an application for
retirement with P.E.R.S.; OR, if the employee has completed ten (10)
years of full -time continuous service with the City of Downey and has
attained the minimum retirement age under P.E.R.S., which is 50 years of
age.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and provide for the appropriate distribution thereof.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the
City Council of the City of Downey at a regular meeting thereof held on the
25th day of November, 1986, by the following vote, to wit:
