HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4715 RESOLUTION NO. 4715 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION PAYABLE TO CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE MIDDLE MANAGEMENT SERVICE. WHEREAS, the City Council has given careful consideration to the Management/ Compensation Plan as recommended by the City Manager. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Effective January 13, 1986, the Middle Management salary schedule for division heads is amended as follows: CLASSIFICATION MONTHLY RANGE Assistant to the City Manager $3,029 - 3,681 Building Official 3,462 - 4,214 City Engineer /Deputy Dir. of Public Works 3,827 - 4,650 City Librarian 3,154 - 3,836 City Planner 3,462 - 4,214 Data Processing Manager 3,286 - 3,992 Equipment Maintenance Manager 2,482 - 3,028 Finance Division Manager 3,402 - 4,134 Fire Battalion Chief 3,384 - 4,124 Fire Marshal 3,384 - 4,124 Housing Division Manager 3,037 - 3,690 Personnel Director 3,402 - 4,134 Police Captain 3,726 - 4,654 Purchasing Manager 2,951 - 3,586 Recreation Division Manager 2,912 - 3,538 Redevelopment Manager 3,462 - 4,214 Social Services Division Manager 2,912 - 3,538 Superintendent of Physical Services 3,283 - 3,989 Superintendent of Water and Sanitation 3,283 - 3,989 Technical Services Manager 3,496 - 4,248 Theater Manager 2,912 - 3,538 SECTION 2. The following classifications are not classified as division heads but will continue to be regarded as part of the Middle Management service during the period in which the positions are occupied by the incumbent employees. At such time that these positions become vacant, the classifications will be eliminated from the Middle Management service and placed into the classified service of the City. CLASSIFICATION MONTHLY RANGE Deputy City Clerk $1,817 - 2,219 Traffic Engineer 3,208 - 3,914 SECTION 3. All benefits currently or hereinafter provided to classifications within the corresponding recognized bargaining units in the City's classified service are approved for Middle Management personnel unless otherwise specified. Middle Management employees are specifically excluded from overtime compensation (exceptions are Fire Battalion Chiefs and Fire Marshal) and education incentive pay (exceptions are Police Captains). Employees who are appointed or promoted into the Middle Management service of the City after December 31, 1983, shall not .�, be eligible to receive the Longevity Pay differentials provided to the classified personnel. SECTION 4. Section IV, part 3, of the Management Performance /Compensation Plan is hereby amended so that established salary ranges are reviewed for possible adjustments to be effective in the first pay period of January of even - numbered years. -1- RESOLUTION NO. 4715 SECTION 5.
