HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4684 RESOLUTION NO. 4684 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DESIGNATING THE CITY OF DOWNEY FIRE DEPARTMENT AS THE AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR ADMINISTERING CHAPTER 6.95 OF DIVISION 20 OF THE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE, RELATING TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of California has adopted Chapter 6.95 of Division 20 of the California Health and Safety Code (Section 25500- 25521), relating to hazardous materials, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey desires to maintain local control of the hazardous materials in use within the City, does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The Downey Fire Department is hereby designated as the administering agency of hazardous material regulation and shall notify the appropriate agencies of this fact in the method required. SECTION 2. The Downey Fire Department is directed to prepare the required ordinance(s) and fee schedule to ensure that the administering of the law is viable and that compliance dates are met. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
