A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A 4.21
FOOT WIDE PORTION OF CHEEOKEE DRIVE BEGINNING AT A
POINT THAT IS 78 FEET SOUTHEASTERLY FROM THE
SOUTHEASTERLY LINE OF BROOKSHIRE AVENUE AND
CONTINUING SOUTHEASTERLY APPROXIMATELY 139 FEET.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey, upon recommendation
of the Planning Commission, declares its intention to vacate the portion
of Cherokee Drive as shown on the attached copy of the map on file in the
office of the City Clerk to which reference is made for further particulars.
The public right -of -way being vacated is described as follows:
That portion of the Rancho Santa Gertrudes finally confirmed to James P.
MacFarland and John G. Downey, in the City of Downey, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 1, Page 156 of Patents,
in the office of the County Recorder of said County described as follows:
Beginning at the most westerly corner of Tract 16036 as per map recorded
in Book 353, Pages 2 and 25 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder
of said County; thence North 58 °4 +2' West 95.00 feet to a line parallel with
and 95 feet northwesterly from the northwesterly line of the land described
in the deed to W.H. Person recorded in Book 674, Page 213 of Deeds, records
of said County, thence northeasterly along said parallel line 17.79 feet
to the true point of beginning; thence continuing northeasterly along said
parallel line 4.21 feet; thence North 58 West 66.05 feet; thence South
31 ° 22'25" West 4.21 feet; thence South 58 ° 42' East to the true point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. The hour of 7:30 p.m. on August 13, 1985, is hereby fixed
as the time and the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 11111 Brookshire
Avenue, Downey, California, is fixed as the place for hearing all persons
interested in the proposed vacation of said street.
SECTION 3. Notices of the proposed vacation shall be posted or published
in the manner prescribed by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California.
SECTION 1i. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
