A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY, DESIGNATING REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA FOR
STUDY PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey California, has adopted
an ordinance finding the need for a redevelopment agency to function in
Downey; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment agency has been duly organized as the
Community Development Commission of the City of Downey, with this Council
sitting as said Commission; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33310 of the California Health and
Safety Code, this Council, as the legislative body, may designate a
redevelopment survey area for study purposes; and
WHEREAS, a redevelopment survey area is graphically depicted on Exhibit
"4B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, the area depicted on Exhibit "4B" requires study to determine
if a redevelopment project or project amendment is feasible; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33322, the Planning Commission
shall, at the direction of the City Council, select a project area from within
the boundaries of the survey area and formulate a preliminary plan for the
area so selected.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby resolves
as follows:
1. The areas depicted on Exhibit "4B" require study to determine if a
redevelopment project, or project amendment, within said area is feasible.
2. The area depicted on Exhibit "4B" is designated as a redevelopment
survey area.
3. The Planning Commission of the City of Downey is hereby authorized
and directed, in cooperation with the Community Development Commission of the
City of Downey, to select a redevelopment project amendment area from within
the boundaries of the survey area and to formulate a Preliminary Plan for the
area so selected for submittal to the Community Development Commission of the
City of Downey.
