A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX THE ENTIRE
CITY AREA INTO ZONE III OF EXISTING LIGHTING DISTRICT
NO. A.D. 121 AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR
PUBLIC HEARING (JUNE 11, 1985)
WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No.4574 proposed to annex the
entire City area into Zone III of existing Lighting Maintenance District A.D.
121 pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Part
2, Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code); and
WHEREAS, by said Resolution No. 4574 the City Council ordered the Engineer
to prepare and file a report for annexation of the entire City area into Zone
III of existing Lighting District No. A.D. 121 pursuant to the Landscaping and
Lighting Act of 1972 per Section 22585 of the California Streets and Highways
Code; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer did prepare and file such a report and the same
was approved by the City Council on the 14th day of May, 1985, bar Resolution
No. 4575.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That in order to maintain and service certain street lighting
facilities within Lighting Maintenance District A.D. 121 beginning the Fiscal
Year 1985 - 86, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey
to annex the entire City area into Zone III of Lighting District No. A.D. 121
pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Part
2 of Division 15 of said Code).
SECTION 2. That in order to maintain and service certain street lighting
facilities in, on and along public streets within the proposed Zone III will
be, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Downey, to the benefit
of the assessable properties within the District.
SECTION 3. That reference hereby is made to the report of the Engineer
on file with the City Clerk and available for public inspection, of the proposed
assessments upon t u assessable parcels of land within Zone III of the District.

SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that on June 11, 1985, at 7:30 p.m.,
in the Council Chambers of Downey City Hall located at 11111 Brookshire Avenue,
Downey, California, all interested persons may appear before the City Council
and be heard concerning the services to be performed, the proposed assessment
and all other matters relating thereto.
Protests must be in writing and must be filed with the City Clerk prior
to the conclusion of the hearing. Any such protest shall state all grounds
of objection, and be filed by the property owner, shall contain a description
sufficient to identify the property.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause notice of the hearing to be given
by causing the Resolution of Intention to be published in the manner required
b y Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
