Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 4468 RESOLUTION NO. 4 + 4 +68 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ESTABLISHING THREE (3) WATER SERVICE ZONES FOR SEPARATE WATER RATES AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 4279 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7304 of the Downey Municipal Code, the City Council hereby creates and establishes three water service zones within the City as shown upon Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof: ZONE I The following bi- monthly rates hereby are established to be effective with the water billings beginning on October 1, 1984 and shall be collected by the Water Division of the City through the Director of Finance for water furnished by said City for the said Zone. Zone I as used herein, shall include the geographical area shown as Zone I on Exhibit "A" and a water user who is receiving water from the Downey Municipal Water System as the same exists on January 30, 1978. For water furnished by said City through water meters: First 1,400 cu. ft. or less $ 9.65 Over 1,400 cu. ft. per 100 cu. ft. .41 The minimum bi- monthly charge for water furnished through meters shall be as follows: Size of Meter Minimum Charge Minimum Consumption in 100 cu. ft. 5/8" $ 9.65 14 3/4" 11.70 19 1" 16.21 30 1 -1/2" 34.25 74 2" 54.75 124 3" 112.56 265 4" 182.26 435 1 6" 372.91 900 8" 596.36 1445 10" 856.71 2080 For apartments, add 50 to minimum for each additional apartment over one using the same meter. For hotels, add 25 to minimum for each living unit over one using the same meter. Fire Service Rates For water furnished by said City through Fire Service Meters: Per 100 cubic feet = $0.41 The minimum bimonthly charge per Fire Service Meters shall be as follows: Size of Service Minimum Charge 2" $ 12.00 3" 18.00 4" 24.00 6" 36.00 8" 48.00 10" 60.00 12" 72.00 ZONE II The following bi- monthly rates hereby are established to be effective with the water billings beginning on October 1, 1984 and shall be collected by the Water Division of the City through the Director of Finance for water furnished by said City for the said Zone. Zone II as used herein, shall include the geographical area shown as Zone II on Exhibit "A" and a water user who is receiving water from the "Park Water Company in the City as the same exists on January 30, 1978, and a water user who is receiving water from the Paramount Water District in the City as the same exists on October 4, 1979. Zone III as used herein, shall geogr - phical area shown on Zone III on Exhibit "A" and a water user who is receiving water fram the Southern California Water Company in the City as the same exists on January 30, 1978. For water furnished by said City through water meters: 1) For 5/8" x 3/4" through 2" meters: Over the minimum consumption, per 100 cu. ft. = $0.50 2) For 3" through 10" meters: Same as Zone II for the same size of meter The minimum bi- monthly charge for water furnished through meters shall be as follows: Size of Meter Minimum mn Charge Minimum Consumption in 100 cu. ft. 5/8" x 3/4" $ 9.65 11 3/4" 11.85 15 1" 16.21 20 1 -1/2" 34.65 46 2" 54.75 71 Fire Service Rates For water furnished by said City through Fire Service Meters: Per 100 cubic feet = $0.41 The minimum bi- monthly charge per Fire Service Meters shall be as follows: Size of Service Minimum Charge 2" $ 12.00 V 3" 18.00 4" 24.00 6" 36.00 8" 48.00 10" 60.00 12" 72.00 -2- The minim m charge will be charged in all zones unless a shut -off or is ordered by the owner of tenant during the bi- monthl billing opening the charge shall be based on actual period: then quantity of water used. SECTION 2. All customers within Zones I, II, and III shall be subject to the provisions of the Downey Municipal Code, as it relates to charges, fees, deposits and other requirements. SECTION 3. Resolution No. 4279 is hereby rescinded. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be operative October 1, 1984. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
